Biography
My interest in exercise started as a young child when I liked to do my mother's aerobics videos for fun! At school I was a keen runner until my later teenage years when like many young people I drifted into a life of frequent partying, drinking and eating junk food. Eventually this started to catch up with me, and I began jogging and power walking to limit the damage. As I packed in the party lifestyle though, I found that aerobic exercise alone wasn't getting me where I wanted - it was then that I started to take an interest in my older brother's weight training. By combining aerobic exercise, resistance training and a sensible diet, I gained control of my body and became fitter, healthier and happier. Over the years I have also gone on to acquire a good understanding of yoga, pilates, plyometrics and calisthenics to help me achieve optimum fat loss, while gaining strength and toning my body.
I became pregnant in 2005 which saw me put on around 60lbs. But when I resumed my exercise program, I found my body didn't always respond as it used to - much research and some experimentation soon put things right though! Having previously worked in sales, I decided that I wanted to make my life-long hobby my job, and so studied for my YMCA qualification (I am also trained in CPR and properly insured). I now draw great satisfaction from making a career out of helping others to benefit from the lessons I have learned.
I've recently also made the move into body-fitness competition and fitness modelling, and when I'm not working or working out myself, I'm at home in the Docklands area painting, making music, and of course spending time with my beautiful daughter!
